usb loader gx trouble with downloading.

i have a 4.2u menu and just did a fresh install of homebrew and usb loader gx and all that good stuff. but every time i try to download a game to my hard drive it acts normal, seems to load game a little fast gets to 100% and the download bar goes away and nothing happens. my wii freezes and i have to hold the power button in to restart it.

anyone having this problem? can anyone help me out?

Yes try another revision of gx....r938

    two ways of loading

r938.dol(rename to boot.dol put it in a folder call it usb loader gx put the folder in apps folder on your sd .....launch through hbc or a forwarder)Forwarder=You get it as a channel but it load the .dol from your sd or usb(fat32) easier to change when theres and update just swap the .dol with new one

    or

    r938.wad(Full channel)

that made it worse. now, when i click the add a game button a window pops up and says would you like to install a new game? (yes) (no) i click yes, it blinks and goes back to usb loader home menu where you load games from. i tried both the .dol and the .wad.

i'm also having bad mojo with the 4.3 update. it's basically update or you can't load a disk. is there any way to get around this? nintendo bein such a holes about it. geez....

If you followed one of our guides, you will have installed priiloader. Apply the hacks block online updates and block disc updates. As far as the GX issue, try another revision as stated, or try a superior loader such as Configurable or WiiFlow.

thanks for info. i recently reinstalled HBC with a guide from here and it was so much smoother and easier to do. probably because the 4.2 hack had just come out when i first done it. the priiloader got rid of that pesky disk update thing. also had a couple other cool hacks in there too. i never knew what i was missing out on haha.

as for the GX problem, will i be able to load the games off my hard drive or will i have to reformat it and reload all of the games?im not terribly attached to GX i just hate to have to reload all those games if i can find an easier fix.

Personally, I only use USBloader GX because it's the first one I got to work and all of my games load (see: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it"). I had a similar problem, very similar actually, and my solution was to keep a copy of the .dol on my SD card of r921 and the .wad channel on my wii of the most updated channel (personal preference). r921 has NO problem for me to rip games, even up towards 6.0MB speed.

If you wish to stay with wbfs you shouldn't have to reformat the drive. Try a different loader if you wish. As long as the hdd is properly formatted for wbfs play, and set to primary and active, it should be fine.

i tried the r921.dol it got back the loading bar but it goes back to the original problem. after it loads the game the window disappears like normal but then it does nothing. it sits there with the loader background but wont go back to the menu. i have to do a hard shut down on the wii. anyideas on that?

I suppose then the only thing I can think of would be to confirm that the drive you want to use is in fact WBFS formatted, is set to primary, ect, like thatfloorguy said. I am officially out of ideas, as that was my fix. I recently reread this thread, and have you installed priiloader? (Also like thatfloorguy said) You mentioned it wanting to update to 4.3, and priiloader can block aforementioned update.

yeah i installed priiloader and got rid of the forced upgrading. the drive will load and play a game fine. i have a few on there. i just can't figure out why it wont download right. it seems like it downloads teh game very fast compared to when it was working. and it started doing all this for no reason. that's why i went through the trouble of redoing everything. im at a loss :\
