Format Wii System Memory + Wii version 4.3U downgrade question

It's been over a year since I last softmodded my wii and I forgot everything there is to modding my wii. Well, today I was bored and I bought the New Super Mario Bros game and when I inserted the game into my softmodded wii it told me to update my wii. I was like haha yeah right like I'm going to update my wii. So I went into usb loader gx and then I installed the game onto my hard drive. I tried to turn the game on through usb loader but it's not working. So I was like wtf. I was pissed and I really wanted to play the game so I decided I'm going to format wii system memory to remove and softmod from my wii to prevent any type of brick that might occur through this update. Well now I want to softmod my wii again which is on version 4.3u lol. I was wondering if I have softmodded my wii before and I format wii system memory do I have to softmod my wii again? How do I get homebrew channel on 4.3u so I can burn this game like all my other games and play without disc again.
