It means that once installed you wont be able to downgrade it in any conventional means. No big deal.

I doubt it helps. I am doing a little research on this error. Standby if you want before you upgrade.

OK, I did some googling about this error and I did find some hits with a few (very few) others with this same problem and unfortunately none of them had any solutions outside of updating to the latest SM. I don't know what causes this issues and failed to recreate it. The users that I found with this error where all Koren (I think) on 3.2. If you really want the shop channel then the only thing I can suggest now is to follow this guide to update your system to 4.3. I AM NOT TELLING YOU TO DO THIS. I am only saying that this would most likely fix the problem. Do so at your own risk if, YOU not me, decide to do it. I would also suggest that you do some study ahead of time about this updater before you do.

It means you wont be able to use IOS61 to downgrade any other IOS. Not that you can't downgrade IOS61 afterward...(but there would be no reason to anyway as you mentioned).
    Damn I suck!!!!

crap .... funny you mention Korea because thats where i think i bought the wii replacement mother-bored im currently using. A long time ago when I was stupid and very new at this hacking thing i uninstalled IOS60 with wad manger my t.v screen went black and never went back to the system menu. ( funny because only after i did that i started to see messages on the net telling me not to uninstall IOS under 200 ...just my luck i guess )Someone told me Reformatting my wii can fix my problem but i believe the only reason you didn't get the same message i did was because Reformatting the wii does not take back the user agreement. Plus i have talked myself into not updating my IOS61 because people tell me IOS61 is used to run the Shop channel not by-pass the agreement. Updating my system to 4.3 will 100% ABSOLUTELY fix my problem because thats what the Wii is asking me to do, but that also means everything i did up-to this point would be taken-away from me except for the NEW HomeBrew channel which i believe runs on 4.3. Anyways thank you so much for trying to help me Krafter but im just gonna leave the Wii the way it is now DONT GET ME WRONG im not giving up i will bookmark this page to check back on it. If anything ever comes up that anyone thinks will fix my problem dont hesitate to post

Well good luck to ya and if you do find a solution then make sure your drop by and tell us. ... You also might look into ARC (Any Region Changer), run it and just see if anything settings look odd. Just don't change anything unless it is obviously wrong. Just a grasping for straws thought.
