Should I update to 4.3 if I don't care about homebrew

I know that "Should I update" questions are very common, but I have not yet been able to get a conclusive result that fits my problem by searching the forum, (and I have been). I just want to know if there is any significant risk in updating my Wii to 4.3 (I have a US Wii), After many attempts to use "safe" installers (I am on 3.4u) I've basically gotten no further than a restored bug, and a very limited number of IOSs that aren't doing me much good. I just want to know, how exactly risky would it be to update my Wii through Nintendo, if I really couldn't care less about homebrew staying or leaving.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, I have HBC Installed but not bootmii or Priiloader.

There is no risk at all. If you want to do so, go ahead and be happy, but this forum is not for you .

Wow what a qustion just remember you update to 4.3 you not only lose HomeBrew but you will Lose all the games you downloaded on homebrew becouse you wont have no way to load them becouse you wont have a app to read the SD card but if you dont care about none of the homebrew appsand you dont want none of the other apps and the games and your thinking about selling it go ahead.

Some one asked this the other day. If you want to forget about modding all together then the update would do it for you. If your wii is still under warrenty, you might want to use the virginize guide to remove all traces of homebrew in case you have to return it for service. If it's out of warrenty and you don't care, update away.

Thanks you very much, all of you, It feels good to have a conclusive answer to all of this after all this time. Its not exactly that I don't want homebrew anymore, its just that maintaining it has become too much of a struggle for me at this point, although I loved using my Wii as a HTPC, I've gotten to a point where I feel that keeping my HB working feels like its taking up more of my time than actually using it. I live outside the US with a US Wii so sending it back for repairs is basically through a relative living in the us and thats about 2-3 months till i'd actually get it back (not to mention I'm a year or something out of my warranty) so I can't really take any of the risks that come with the safe updaters and their required ISOs.

So again thanks, and I hope to one day in the future get homebrew back up and ruining, but today i'm abit more worried about getting my Wii up to date.

    -Thanks Again, Sam Wagner

Best of luck to you. Once you get the wii set up you hardly ever have to do anything to it in order to maintain it. But if you're clocking out we wish you the best.

The only thing you had to do is to not update, and to not install apps or else from weird sources. Best of Luck to you anyways.

There is absolutely no benefits in updating to 4.3 at this point. You will not gain anything other than a wii that is very difficult to softmod as that's really all the update does. Just a suggestion but if you want to update from 3.4 then go to system menu 4.1 or 4.2.
