If I may suggest, give Wad Manager 1.3 a try for a future wad install. It's a simple wad installer, you don't have to select which IOS to run the installer, it will automatically detect the cIOS and use that. In my opinion, DOP-Mii can be a dangerous tool to the new guys that don't even know the basics yet.

I like how some members here will bash somebody for installing cIOSx rev19, but hand over DOP-Mii to a noob. <--- just a statement, not aimed at anybody personally

True enough but wad manager cannot apply patches to the IOS. I know some people don't like DOP-mii but when following instructions there is not much you can do wrong. DOP-mii has many fail-safes as well.

I guess the user could have tried to find a pre-patched IOS36 Wad and used wad manager. Just trying to offer a solution to the problem.

EDIT: @Justice -- Yes it worked, your IOS36 is patched. Looks like you don't have IOS60 patched so look into installing priiloader. (make sure you have a system menu that is compatible first...read one of the priiloader threads, WiiJohn has a good one). Looks to me like you have 4.1u so you will be fine.

DOP-Mii is not the only app that applies patches to IOS36, the user was in the process of doing that without DOP-Mii. It's easy for you and I to use it, we know when to press the A button, and when not to. To a new user, the A button is just an A button, and he will find out what happens after he press it.

Thanks a lot for being patient with me, I'll check the threads for priiloader. Is it safe for me to play my games in the meantime? I will not do any more modifications till I read up a lot about it.

Well it wasn't working for him so I offered an alternative solution. He didn't have to follow my advice, I am only trying to help people.. if I felt my instructions were not clear enough for them to do what is needed then I wouldn't offer them. Lol I don't want to get into another DOP-mii conversation...some people use it some people don't. I understand where you're coming from but I think it is better to learn sooner rather then later.

My guide also includes 2 alternative methods to DOP-mii which the user could have used.

@Justice - Yes you can play your games now. Just don't accept an update.(that is what priiloader is for, to block them)

I think it would be a good learning lesson how to fix the problem at hand, did he ever reinstall IOS15, kind of surprised he didn't brick. Well, if there is something that calls on IOS15, and it's not installed, I wonder what happens. Or is IOS15 stubbed now?

    I see what IOS15 is -

Contains NAND BOOT PROGRAM (AKA NANDloader) -- this was probably accidental
the user might want to get that IOS15 installed.

Nothing in my instructions would have caused a brick and the first thing I told him to do was install the wads he uninstalled. The purpose of my directions was to fix the problem at hand...so I'm not really sure where I've gone wrong?

I just want to clarify: Should I install the patched IOS60 WAD, then install priiloader, or does order matter?

    IOS15 (rev 523),No,Disabled,Disabled,Disabled,Disabled,Disabl ed,Disabled

He has it installed, as I mentioned that was the first thing I told him to do.

@Justice, Yes the order matters, follow the steps in the guide by WiiJohn closely. Any further questions relating to the guide should be asked in that thread, not here.

    Edit
Also I don't see what is wrong with offering users instructions to use DOP-Mii when many recommended guides have them use ATD with little to no instruction.
