New to burning games with Mac

    ANY HELP?!?!
First time burning games, I have a softmod Wii, using a external HD ( software is WiiFlow).
    I ripped and ISO
    I now have ISO file.
Used Disk Utility with my Mac ( 2 Gig ram )
    It burned successfully
Put it in my Wii... and got an error " Unreadable disc"

I know if I can figure out how to do it once, I'll be fine..... but cant get over that "once " hurdle".
Im new to burning, so sorry if this sounds elementary!

Any help would be SO much appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Gino C.

You might have the D3-2 drive which doesn't read burnt discs. What are you using to launch the game? Neogamma? It won't work from the disc channel. Try it with a different game and different kind of DVD. If that doesn't work, you'll have to use a USB loader.

I have a mac and have burned successfully. What speed did you burn at.

Also use this database to predict the chipset in your wii Wii Drive Chip Database Just enter the serial number in the box.

Also if you have an exterrnal hdd why are you still playing with disc?

    Thanks Narse

    Thanks for your quick reply....WOW!

In disk Utility , it only showed 2 speeds... I tried the lowest one first and it gave me this error
" Devide failed to calibrate laser power level for this media"

So I burnt it the default regular speed, and it did the full burn suceessfully
Now, I just noticed that the ISO file was 1.29 GB..... and been reading that most games are 4.7 GB....
    Could that be the problem?

It sound like the game is scrubbed - I was going to say use wii scrubber to unscrub it but you cant because you are on a mac. I have bootcamp running on mine so have xp.

People scrub the games to save time on uploading as scrubbing removes all the useless rubbish on the disc. Games are 4.37gb normally

    Scrubbed

    Thanks again
Yeah, it WAS scrubbed when I ripped it......!!!
Does that make a difference?.....is that why its 1/4 of the size?.....
So 3/4 of the game is useless stuff?!?!?!?!....
And is that why it wont run?

Did you read what I had to say before? It sounds like you need to use an external hard drive with USB loader. Use this tutorial.

Did you use the database provided - All you have to do is put your wii serial nimber in and it will hopefully tell you what sort of chipset your wii has D3-2 is the one you dont want
