What do you want to do?
You can probably start the softmod all over again.
Modchips are fine, but it is getting to the point that most new wii consoles cannot use the disk based ones, so you need to take that into consideration as well. I don't know what the age of your console is, but it is most popular andmore efficient to use usb anyway.
Softmodding is the way to go if you don't have the money, and have no anxiouty about installing the software.
Someppl have no issues with taking it apart and putting in a modchip.
So, what do you want to do?

If you aren't sure where you left off, you could just restart the softmod process -- like oddgriffon said. Just be sure to following the appropiate guide. If you're interested in using a USB HDD, just click the link in my sig. Once you go USB, you won't go back ;P

No! Never update beyond 4.1. (If you are already at 4.2 it is okay)

4.2 and 4.3 have no added features and are not required to play new games. Be sure to install Priiloader. Just start from the beginning of the guide, it will cause no problems. If you have any issues when following the guide then post in the guide you are following.

    Good luck!

Wii menu-- Go to Wii Options --Wii Settings -- your system menu version will be displayed in the top right corner of the screen. Find the guide in the recommended guides and tutorials section.
