    4.3 Update Question

Long story short im somewhat new to the wii moding stuff, my wii is 4.2 with all the bells and whistles. What ive noticed since ive installed some homebrew apps, is the wii tends to randomly freeze up, in both homebrew apps, and retail (legit) games.

I do recall improperly installing a cios update (maybe this caused the issue?) Anyways i know 4.3 is out, and is somewhat hackage, my question is, will 4.3 remove all and any cios i have installed, and restore the ios back to their original unmodded state? (only with the 4.3 updates though) or does 4.3 just basically block the homebrew channel, and all apps, and cios?

I know when a wii is modded traces are always left behind, but in moderation, will updating to 4.3 pretty much make my wii virgin again?

Thanks again, please let me know!

If you'd like to revert your Wii to a virgin state, be sure to check out Dogegg's guide.

I have no clue why people think ANY update will "virginize" their console...maybe a lack of understanding. Anyway, do not accept the 4.3 update for any reason. You can "virginize" If you like...I myself would try to fix the issues your having. A properly hacked console works great, meaning no random freezes, or the things you describe. The purpose of modding is to add more functionality..It should not adversely effect the operation of the console.
    Damn I suck!!!!

Do you like you could lead me in the direction to repair my issue without making my wii virgin then?

Do NOT Do It!! Updating a softmodded Wii to 4.3 will cause you more problems then it's worth. And no it will not Virginize your Wii.

Run Syscheck from HBC and post the results.
Then we can see what issues you have.

The resulting file will be a .csv just change it to .txt if you have any issues.

It doesn't help you are using a non-recommended version of cIOS (cIOS-X aka IOS 249 Rev 19). Screwing around with that as a newbie can cause unpredictable problems. As for your IOS, you can compare your revisions and IOS present (or not present) against this. You don't have IOS 70 patched, either.
