USB Loader GX error file dumb

I recently formated a 1TB WD passport hdd to fat32. I try to burn the netflix disc to the hard drive as a test because I watched it burn to a friends hdd from his modded wii. When i load up usb loader Gx i click the "+" and try to install the game. no instalation bar pops up and about 20 seconds latter i get the error. at the top is says "Exception (DIS) acured!"
then a bunch of code like stuff. and then says along the lines of file dumb and another type of dumb.

this also did this with a 1.5tb samsung story that i have. I figured it might have the just the samsung hdd so i got the passport. Ive read around the forums that there are updates for usb loader and what not and i havent checked to see if mine is the latest version but its v1.0 i think thats what it says at the top. I just dL it i want to say a month ago.

Also ive been reading posts on WBFS (wii base file system manager or somthing) and Im not sure if i need this or not. Before i joined the site i did not think i did but it seams like usb loader gx and wbfs work hand and hand.

My ultimate goal is to back up/burn my wii games stright from my wii to the hdd with out ever discounecting the hdd from the wii. Once i formate it correctly and set it up right im going to almost permanitly attach it to the wii so it looks cool. From what i gathered it seams wbfs is for people that are geting files from the internet or storing them on a computer and unhooking the hard drive from the wii adding games from wbfs and then hooking it back up to the wii. (that i do not want to do)

I was wondering what i might be doing wrong and any suggestions you might have would be great. thanks for reading and sorry its so long. First post so just want to make sure im explaining my self enoph

you need a WBFS partition in order to rip the games. You'll be able to do what you want to do, don't worry. Other people keep switching their hdd between wii and pc because they want to "edit" games.

thanks for the response, I was told by my friend that wbfs was somthing i did not need. he helped me soft mod the system and we did it the exact way he did his, i want to keep ares nearly the same. He followed a guide from this site and i will see if i can get it from him when he is off of work. He had told me he used an apple comp to formate his hard drive so i started to wonder if apple computers have awsome formate utilitys? I had to formate my hdd using fat32formatter (programs name) because no matter were i looked there didnt seam to be a way to formate my hdd to fat32 through win7 or the manufactures website. Even though i had found on their site a fat32 formatter it did not work for my particular drive.

I see where you are going. You want to use your games as the .wbfs extension. I don't do that, but I know many ppl here do, so there is a guide somewhere. Yeah, FAT32FormatterEN is the only way to format a hdd above 32Gb to FAT32. However, I don't think you'll be able to rip your games to .wbfs from USB Loader GX. It will rip it as a iso, and for that you need a wbfs partition.
