Then the manufacturing date was not 2006. You are probablly reading the copyright date....which is always 2006.
    Damn I suck!!!!

Ah, okay. My bad. With other consoles, I've found the copyright date to be updated each year. I just checked and couldn't find a manufacturing date listed on that side. The model is RVL-001, though. It doesn't really matter, though, I had a 3.3 system menu which updated fine to 4.1 (after hacks), and I have the older drive, so I'm happy with it. I've gotten everything but Media Player SMB shares set up so far, and I have an Xbox with XBMC for that, so no rush.

Yea, you still did good. Alot of us don't bother with disk loading, but as I explained in another thread. My usb port is broken so I have no choice, and it is nice to be able to do when you need it.

I plan to move to a USB HDD in a bit. I should be able to partition it with one partition in Wii format, one for PS2 game loading, and one NTFS just for general usage when needed, right?

Some great deals on drives lately, just trying to pace my spending. I kind of bought this Wii impulsively, so I'm going to wait a bit before buying a drive, too.

Alot of ppl are going with a large fat32 partition. Most usb loaders can use it and you can access your homebrew stuff from it as well.
