Can I update to 4.3U without damaging my Wii?

Hello! I'm new to all this softmodding, and I was just wondering what would happen if I updated to 4.3 with HBC installed. I've tried looking for answers, but nothing was very clear. I've decided to use this Wii for playing normal wii games without HBC. If I update with HBC installed, will I brick?

Thanks for taking the time to help a newbie!

Since you are new to this whole thing, I will share a concept with you that is common knowledge in the wii hacking world. There is no advantage to having a more current system menu.
The only reason it was ever released was to stop wii modding.
Updates contain System Ios files and they can be installed manually.
This latest update is very cumbersome to hack or rehack.

I've read that no one updates because it is useless, but I do not intend to rehack this Wii.
So is it ok to update even with HBC installed? Thanks for the response BTW!

Umm, Homebrew is pretty much a result of hacking the wii. It is the most important part of installing the other files needed to run the other apps that alter/ install cios/ios.
The app that is used to install homebrew(bannerbomb) is not even available yet.
Part of the thing I was talking about when I said nintendo stopping wii modding, was homebrew.

There is supposed to be a safe updater that will keep your homebrew intact. There is a thread with a link somewhere in the forums.
Ppl have had mixed results. So do it if you want to, but I will go on record as saying that I don not recommend updating your system menu to that god awful 4.3 , for any reason, and by any method.

Oh, I forgot to mention that it didn't really matter if it deleted homebrew or not, as I was going to get rid of it anyways (not that's it's bad or anything, I just barely use it).
I was really asking if my Wii would get bricked. Am I correct in saying that the 4.3 update will (probably) not brick my Wii?

Do not update if your wii is region changed.
Otherwise, you can update safely ..
    Yet, NO NEED to update...

    Thanks for the straightforward answer!
Ya, my Wii is not region changed.
And I do realize that updating is not necessary (or recommended at that..) but I've got my reasons...

Thanks you guys for the answers!

Note that updating will remove softmods on your wii so you will not be able to play backups...

There is a valid reason to want the upgrade, since Nintendo went the dick route and is blocking all access to Wii Shop Channel until the upgrade has been installed. No bueno sirs...

There are ways to get to the wii shop without upgrading. Anyways there's nothing good on the wiishop imo
    Downgrade from 4.3 to 4.1
