Confused and having trouble updating USBLoaderGX

I followed Shadowsonic2's guide to softmod menu system 4.2 and I have an older version of USBLoaderGX as a result. I am pretty sure that it installs it as a channel (but I am not sure). I want to upgrade the version of USBLoaderGX so I went to the site, downloaded the .wad file, put it on the SD card and uninstalled the old version and installed the new version through wad manager. Wad manager said it was installed ok. Even though wad manager said it uninstalled the old one and installed the new one, the old one is the only one to appear anywhere. It is still in the system menu and nothing is in the Homebrew channel. I have looked around for answers, but I am stuck here. What have I done wrong? Am I right that the Shadowsonic2 guide installs it as a channel and if so, how to I uninstall it? If not, how can I upgrade it? The version I have has a bug with installing a disc to my HD. Thanks. ALso, how the heck do I put paragraph breaks in here?

you installed the .wad which means it was a channel so the new one you installed is the one you have which revision did you download and install

load gx ..go setting go into credits and see what version it says for your GX

Origionally I had .929 installed and I downloaded .937. I attempted to uninstall .929 and install .937, wad manager said both operations were successful. Upon checking the credits it still says .929.
