Is it ok to upgrade to 4.3 by removing HBC?

I'm a noob and have looked at the tutorials but haven't found anything. I only usethe HBC on my wii to use it region free and nothing else as I buy my games. When I had 4.1, I removed the HBC and upgraded to 4.2 without any problems. When I installed HBC to 4.2, I also stupidly installed something else without knowing what it was. I think it was bootmii, I was just following the tutorial. If I remove the HBC and upgrade to 4.3, will it brick my wii if bootmii (if thats what I installed, maybe DVDX) is still installed? I

I know people say not to upgrade, but as I said, I buy my games and want to be able to play future games which force the upgrade.

I only tried to install the programmes from this download Hack pack 4.2 sys menu 16012010.rar

    Thanks in advance.

You um, do know that NO game "requires" a System Menu update in order to play, right? Game support is a matter of the right IOS being installed for the most part (and those backups that are problematic have steps that to allow even them to play). But hey... you know best in terms of what you want to accomplish. I'm just sayin' you are barking up the wrong tree.

Really? I have been forced to upgrade in the past. I live in the UK and I remember with metroid prime 3 and mario galaxy, I was forced to upgrade the firmware which was on the disc itself before I was allowed to play it. Unless theres an option to decline the upgrade which I didn't notice?

I mean, if I don't then I will leave it and sorry to waste your time. I was just thinking about getting it ready for the future in case some games will require an update.

But for future referrence, would it brick my wii if bootmii is still installed if I upgraded?

You could install priiloader, then block all online and disc updates then you would be OK

It wouldn't brick, but you do not need to upgrade. I am still at 3.2 and can play any game I wish. Just use priiloader.
Awesome sig picture does not work

OK, thanks for your help guys. I wasn't aware of the uses of priiloader. I will use that if I need to. Thanks again.
