    FAT 32 Partition

So... i've read several posts regarding the benefits of a big fat32 partition.. My question is, if a create a directory and put general pc stuff (documents, pictures, etc) will it affect something in the wii?

I put other documents on my SD and SDHC cards all the time with no adverse effect on my wii. Don't delete anything on the cards from your wii and you should be fine. I even have a folder I titled DOWNLOADS for my non-wii items so I can't lose them, seeing as I also use that card as a micro SDHC card for my phone to listen to MP3s, and it has verizon folders on it from my chocolate. Just don't mix anything up and you shouldn't need to partition anything.

You might wanna format it to NTFS instead of FAT32. The FAT32 partition can only handle file sizes that are less than 4GBS.

You can't format SD cards to NTFS, and even if you could, you don't want to since most Homebrew apps can't handle NTFS.

Are we talking about SD cards or HD drives. If you partition a HD make sure you create primary partition(s) and if have more than one partition make one active. Also you need IOS222 to use Fat32/NTFS.

Thats what I was assuming he was talking about, HDD. Cause most SD cards are already in FAT32 format.

Wow, I apparently read what I wanted to read on that one. Jeeze, was I wrong or what!? I've done it tho, I just needed to create the fat32 partition first, then the NTFS second. USB Loader GX is real easy about choosing which drive you want to load, but homebrew apps like Wii MC seemed to only go to the first partition, I made them the other way around the first time and couldn't access anything in an app.
