    wiimc sound issues

I tossed in wiimc to see how I liked it and everything seemed well. I tossed in a dvd and all it produces is laggy sound and good video. any body else have these problems? The disc is new so its not a media problem.

I honestly never tried an actual dvd. I just rip all my dvds to my hdd. The lag may just be a defect in wiimc. check out the wiimc forums (use google) to see if it is known problem.

Thumbs up it's not just isolated incident

I'm here from google and thought I'd contribute to the discussion since this seems as appropriate a place as any.

I have the same issue as the OP. I tossed in my dvd from netflix and although the video looks great, the sound is playing at a much slower rate.

I can think of a few situations in which it would be entertaining to watch bsg with everyone sounding like satan, but not after staying up till 2am last night to get my damn wii homebrew'd. This was the most difficult console to homebrew yet :P ymmv, of course, with all the various versions.

I'll do some digging around and report back if I find anything.

Update: OK, I found a workaround that seems to be sufficient so far (No Cylon battles yet though):

In the settings under Video, I set Frame-Dropping from Disabled to Auto, and I set the cache fill from 30% to 70%. The frame rate still isn't perfect on the intense scenes, and the audio still cuts out in between chapters, but now the audio never gets out of sync or changes into a robot voice (an issue that it turns out I DID have), and now I'd have to call it one of the best DVD players I've seen except for the audio cutting out between chapters.
A thought... since these settings affect DVD playback too, I don't get why the devs didn't put this under the same section as Video. Something like "DVD/Video"...
