Remove softmod on 4.1 to softmod 4.2?

Ok I haven't done any modding on my system in months, and am certainly not up on things Wii related anymore. I have Wii Modded on 4.1 and I want to know if I need to do anything special to remove the modes, before I go to 4.2. I buddy is sending me a memory card and a guide to mod a virgin 4.2 which mine isn't and I just want to be sure about what I have to do before I start that process.

    Thanks in advance everyone.

    EDIT:
Looking at when I signed up I realize it's been since November that I did any Wii Modding. I signed up here then and used all the great guides that are available.

When you were on this site before, Did you take in any of the information about why it is not necessary to update to 4.2? In addition if you do it online through nintendo, you'll be at 4.3.

You used all our great guides, but now you are gonna use a guide from your friend? hmmmm

Yeah, I'm a little confused as well --- is this "LATORGATOR" asking, or is it Normar1245?

I did but it seems like it would be easier to be on 4.2 now if it supports Wiifl0W also. Specifically easier for New Super Mario Bros. My disc works but only though USB Loader GX, and it has to be the disc loaded through there. No other way has worked for me.

Can i just upgrade my tools and stay on 4.1 as an alternative?

Side note: I don't remember your name but I remember your avatar, and your posts being very helpful. Thanks for before and thanks for the fast response.

    EDIT:
I'm not sure what the latergator is? :\

Also, I only wanted to use his guide, just to make sure my system would work with the software versions he sent me.

I'm sorry. I don't mean to cause trouble.

4.2 won't do anything to enhance your console. It's only features were to stop modding, nothing added for us to have any better compatability with anything. If you use nintendo to update, you'll be at 4.3. Is that what you were gonna do?

Junkmail has a guide to update your old softmod.

As above why would you want to upgrade? AFAIK 4.1 is the best version to be on at the moment. Also for what it's worth New Super Mario Bros works on my 4.1 console in any way I've tried, so I don't think the version will be your problem.

I know nothing about syscheck, but I believe you can run it on your system post the results back in this thread and more knowledgeable people will be able to tell you if you've got anything missing/incorrect

Mostly what I want is to be able to play all my games from an external harddrive, through wiiflow, without having to load through The Homebrew Channe and without too many issues once everything is setup properly(ie game patches.)

the only other thing I think I could want is to load wiiware from a memory card or usb if possilbe(i dont think usb is possible.)

4.1 can do everything you want there (except USB wiiware yet), as stated above 4.2 won't give you anything extra.

I use USB Loader GX and all games have worked flawlessly, the only game I had an issue with was Sports Resort, all I had to do with this was insert the game watch the video once then it worked fine from the HD, there are other ways round that too.

Look on here for the games with problems thread and either avoid those games or follow the guides on here
