No WBFS or FAT/NTFS partition found

A friend of mine came over and hacked my wii for me. I am not very computer savvy nor do a know what I am doing so any help will be greatly appreciated. I have The Home Brew Channel installed which has CIOS, FIRMWARE, PRIILOADER, TRUCHA BUG, and WAD manager. He also installed a channel called NEOGAMMA I guess for watching DVD's. All I am really concerned about is being able to save games on my external hard drive. Anyways, when I click on the USB Loader GX it states that on WBFS or FAT/NTFS partition is found and to press SELECT or FORMAT. When I do so is goes to a screen with alot of different codes. It says at the top EXCEPTION (DSI) OCCURED. After about 5 seconds it brings me back to my wii channels. Also, In the beginning, I was able to install like 2 or 3 games onto the external hard drive but after like the 3rd one, it stated that no WBFS or FAT/NTFS partion found. I even bought a new hard drive thinking something might be wrong with it be the same problem occured. I hope I am explaining myself correctly. If so, is this an easy fix? Did my friend not do something correctly? I thank you all in advance for your help.

EDIT: My wii system is 4.1u

He used hack pack 4.2 if anyone is familiar with it. Im not sure if this makes any any difference

Sounds like you haven't set up your drive right and you may have no cIOS. I suggest following doggeggs 3.1-4.1 softmod guide and then the USB HDD guide. You can find links to both below. Why would he follow a 4.2 guide on a 4.1 wii?

Also try Neogamma to play the usb games. Go into Neogamma and at top change load games from dvd to load games from usb. See if it's detected. if it is, your problem is with the usb loader.

    This is what i did.
I checked the USB Compability list to see if my External HDD was ok, and it was.

    Then i formatted the disk.
Made an WBFS Partition in WBFS Manager, 400 GB. (Primary)
And NTFS as secondary 100 GB.

I loaded my wii iso files into wbfs manager and "converted" them to wbfs format.
I plug out my external, into my wii, entered neogamma v8, "load from usb" and bam choose your game ..

Also look like copying the third game corruted your HD. Hook it up to the PC and check the partitions with Windows. You should see one Fat32 partition and one RAW partition(WBFS). They should both be primary and the Fat32 one should be the active partition.
