I Can't Make Up My Mind What I Want to Talk About

i'm thinking of trying out WiiFlow USB loader but i'm a bit confused about something, this is the downloads page: Downloads - wiiflow - Project Hosting on Google Code

what are the different cIOS versions for? do different games require different patched cIOS or something? do I need to switch to a different cIOS loader depending on what games i'm trying to run?

I follow this guide for softmodding my console and all went well http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...y-4-2-wii.html

just pretty confused on the while cIOS thing

Most use 249, but some that use extra hardware in the usb ports may need 222

does that mean I need to patch those before each time I play a different game? or just use the different loader after patching them once?

also a bit off topic, but since the Wii can play gamecube games, is there any way to load gamecube games off a USB HDD?

oh one more thing.. all these 'hacked' IOS versions etc, is it generally better to use the latest version of each or do different versions support different games? where can I find a full list of the latest revisions of these IOS to install? I read something about Waninkoko (Sp?) releasing these things, is there a listing of all his latest releases somewhere?

I made a WAD for Wii64, using the template in CustomizeMii, set the app folder to wii64 (SD:\apps\wii64\boot.dol), created the WAD, installed with WAD Manager, channel is on the menu, click channel, click start, some white text in the corner of the screen saying FAT initialized loading etc and then nothing but a black screen.. where did I go wrong?

    1. No, not yet. 2. Latest is backwards compatible. 3. Look here. 4. Um, you are incorrect in that Waninkoko doesn't release IOS; he does release cIOS (IOS 249) and "safe" System Menu updaters.

Let me ask you this: you've asked about a whole variety of subjects thus far within this single thread. Did you inquire within the threads that you're seeking knowledge thereof? There's a customizemii thread here for example.

It sounds like the program can't find the FAT device. Try opening wii64 via the HBC by putting the boot.dol in your apps folder on the sd card. If it boots up, then there was a problem with the wad. If not, then it is either a bad boot.dol or it just can't find the FAT device.
