Need help with transfering games from one hard drive to another.

Just soft modded my wii to 4.1u and picked up my buddies hard drive which he uses on his softmodded wii and was wondering if it was possible to copy the games over to mine? When I plug it in to my pc it will not be recognized by my pc. Is there a way to just read it to copy iso's over to my pc?

yes it is very possible. Download WBFS manager here. Format a partition of your hdd to wbfs using the manager. Then plug both hdd into the computer and use the "drive-to-drive" tab of the manager to copy the games over. Then the rest is up to your imagination.

fiire thanks. Been repped. But here is my update.
Downloaded WBFS manager 3.0 but windows still does not read my buddies hard drive. Meaning I can't even access it thru WBFS and and WBFS Manager will not format my drive. I keep getting an error message.Saying Error Formatting: An error has occurred while attempting to format the drive. And also gotten Error loading drive:error occurred while loading drive. Make sure drive is not in use or open and it has been formatted to WBFS format. I am using an secondary 200 gb that I had pulled from my first pc and dropped in an external enclosure.Any advise on how I can get windows to recongnize my buddies hard rive or how to correctly format my external. Windows lets me format my external fine thru my computer but not with WBFS. Please help??

I haven't used the drive to drive function of WBFS manager, but have seen other members have problems with this function. Just a heads up. I would definatley test the ISO's on the new drive first, before deleting the ISO's from the old drive. An alternative to using that function would be to extract the IOS's one by one with WBFS manager.

some of those external enclosures are not compatible with the Wii.

try deleting your current volume, and adding a new simple volume(but don't let windows reformat), then format the simple volume using wbfs manager. As for your friends hdd, your computer will not be able to read it, but it should still show up as a drive path in wbfs manager. Then click load.

drive to drive function worked great for me, but one time i tried a new usb drive after everything had previously been recognized and windowsXP ser.pk3.5 all of a sudden wouldnt recognize any drive. Ser.pk 2 had no probs, but i just upgraded to win7 and everything works fine again
