    Lightbulb Getting Started

    Hello,

I have read a few threads in this forum and a few more around the net.
I can't find the following anywhere and I think its most important:

I have a 4.2E wii and an 4GB SD card.
I also have smash brawl and other saves that cannot be copied to the SD card.
Will homebrewing my wii erase my saves or is there any possibility that this can happen(when bricked for example)
Also even though not clearly stated as a main function, I do think I saw that the homebrew channel allows backups of all kinds of saves, can someone verify this?

There are two different routes that you can choose for modding your wii. You can either Hard-mod your wii with mod-chips or you can Soft-mod. We have a in-house trusted supplier for mod-chips Here, very trusted site, and great customer service. When and if you going to hard-mod your wii there is a great section here on the forum. Mod-Chip Section
    ---
On the Flip-Side you can soft-mod you wii using only a SD Card... The guides that are here have been tried and tested and do work... DON'T FOLLOW FAIL-TUBE VIDS.... The first step that you need to do is find out what system menu version your wii is. After you find out that piece of information there are two guides that you can use.
If you are on 3.1-4.1 system menu you can use the guide by dogeggs: [[Guide]]
If you are on the 4.2 system menu the you can use the guide by Shadowsonic2: [[Guide]]

Along the journey of modding your wii you might run into errors when trying to mod the software or install software on your wii. When you have something to add and your post is the last one, use the Edit Function instead of post bumping.

Yes you can backup your Mii's. Info at Wiibrew.org. No softmodding won't delete anything.

    Backup Wii Stuff

    Hiya,

I have found the Savegame Manager which helps you save wii's saved data but it requires the twilight hack, is there a way to backup my saved games with just the homebrew channel?

Also which one is the program to backup Mii?

If you mean twighlight hack, it is currently outdated and another exploit called banner bomb is used. They both do the same thing, enable a vulnerability to run the hackmi installer. The hackmi installer then enables one to instal Homebrew channel and that is what is needed to run that homebrew app.

Nah I've installed the homebrew channel and everything included to it. I am about to try my first game via dvd.

Thing is I don't know how to include in the channel the mii and saves app to back them up and I also don't know which app is the one that allows me to back them up.

Do you know which ones I need for those two?

Savegame manager is the app to use to move saves back and forth. Some saves are protected and you need to install priiloader and enable the hack to move those saves. There is also a mii exctractor app. go to wiibrew.com and look to see what the apps do.
