    A few questions

Sorry but I know nothing about modding the Wii, I myself am a PS3/Xbox 360 player but I have taken interest in the Wii and I plan on buying the new version which is in the colour black. I was wondering If there is a problem with modding this version of the Wii as some newer version of consoles are not mod-able and I was wondering If it is.

I was also wondering if soft modding the Wii will lead to any problems such as bricking the Wii as I do not intend to play online on the Wii and I want to play gamecube games.

I read somewhere that you can also use a WiiKey fusion card or some sort to mod and I was wondering which is safer out of the two routes.

Sorry if this was posted in the wrong forum

Any Wii is softmoddable. You're probably asking can you play DVD backups on a black Wii and the answer is 99.9% likely no. You can still play via USB HD (Gen3SF has a guide in the Recommended Guides section), or WODE, or Sundriver.

You can play backups online, this isn't Xbox 360 --- you'll only get banned from a game if you cheat, not due to playing a backup. Game Cube game backups won't work via D3-2 drive on these Wiis, nor currently via USB HD. They will, however on the WODE. We have a section just for the Wiikey Fusion here. You may want to read any stickies or posts therein to see if that's a possibility or not.

Quoting my own post backatcha: "You may want to read any stickies or posts therein to see if that's a possibility or not." That's a sort of a 'go look and see' on any Fusion-related question (including installation).
