Super Mario Galaxy Black Screen NeoGamma b8 R7

    Hi everyone,

I'm using Super Mario Galaxy PAL on a PAL console, and when I load it up the white screen comes on with the wrist strap warning and stuff, then it just goes black afterwards and I have to hard reboot my Wii.

All the other games I have tried work fine except SMG.

I read in another thread that it might be you don't have one of the IOSs so I grabbed the IOS33-64-v3091.wadand installed it but the black screen is still there. Could it be a different IOS I need?

    Thank you.

Thanks for the quick reply, just installed it but still no luck. I was thinking maybe the rev version I have: I have rev14, should I upgrade it, or is there even an upgrade? Thanks.

Am I good to go on installing the rev 17 if I used messie's guide? Thanks.

Do this step from shadows guide first
Step 3 - Restoring The Bug Into IOS36
Pre-Note: If you have no working Wi-Fi Connection, you can try selecting 'Load iOS from SD Card' instead of 'Download from NUS'

    a) Load and Homebrew Channel and run DOP-Mii, on the IOS Selection Screen, select 'Install An iOS w/ fakesign' by pressing down on the d-pad then A on the wiimote. You should now be in the trucha bug restorer portion of DOP-Mii. Load IOS36 and select Downgrade IOS15. Each time it asks, select 'Download from NUS'
Make sure you get no errors. If Loading IOS36 doesn't work for this step, press B for no IOS reload when asked to load IOS. Although It should do these steps almost automatically, I'll just include the info.

    b) In the fakesign installation, once iOS15 is downgraded, it should begin patching iOS36.. Make sure to install the patched IOS36 with all these patches selected (Just Say Yes to All of the ones that come up)
    Install IOS to slot (36)
    Hash Check (trucha) Yes
    ES_Identify Yes
    NAND Permissions Yes

Then Press A on Install Patched IOS36. Again, everytime it asks, choose 'Download from NUS'

    c) On the same fakesign installation. Load IOS36 and select Restore IOS15. Each time it asks, select 'Download from NUS'

Once done, return to homebrew channel
    Get dopmii HERE

Ok I grabbed the zip from Shadow's guide and managed to do the bug thing, and I just grabbed the rev 17 from your sig but when I goto install it it says Reading ''IOS38-64-v3867.wad'', please wait... ERROR! (ret = -1) I presume it's because it can't find it and it seems shadow's guide has an older version. Do you have the newer version anywhere?

EDIT: No it's ok I found it myself, ok well I installed rev 17 but still SMG doesn't work... so strange. I'm fairly sure it's an IOS I don't have, but which one? Who knows..

So you have fakesigned ios 36 and installed rev 17

    Do a quick sys check
D/L sys check from my signature below.
unzip and put contained folder in apps folder on sd card
    Open up HB
    Run syscheck 1.6
    Exit when finished.
Take sd card back to computer
On the root of sd card there will be a csv file
Open this with word pad and copy and paste the results
