Lol if you have the hombrew channel then you are softmodded. Are you really giving me the definitions for homebrew and softmod? Anyway's I guess you would rather argue than accept my suggestions so I will not reply here again as I have no desire to argue with you.

A softmod is the act of using software to modify the intended behaviour of hardware, such as video cards, sound cards, or game consoles
    Good Luck!

If you follow dogeggs 3.1 - 4.1 softmod tutorial, you can softmod your Wii and update to 4.1 the safe way, so the official nintendo doesnt screw with your DVDX and such that is capable with the older Wii's. Look here - http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...d-any-wii.html, just make sure you read the guide a few times before using it, and don't skip any steps.

The DXDX installer for 3.2 and 3.3 is the preferred installer for most users since it has some special options not found in any of the other installers.

You can run some of the apps, but nothing that requires a cIOS. If wad manager works, it likely is via IOS 36 since it's trucha-enabled.

The only thing that I have seen that a chipped Wii will do from a disc, referring to homebrew, is install the homebrew channel. So, I'm sure a chipped Wii could run other homebrew, but any of that homebrew must be outdated and useless. All that stuff is pre2009.

After practicing what we preach (searching but offsite) there was a DVD ISO at one point for the wikey people. You had to be @ 3.2 and it installed HBC only (beta 8, 9, or 10 were mentioned) with ability to udpate it. That being said, this is more akin to the folks who did the half-measure twilight hack in that they'd conclude they were softmodded by the fact HBC was installed. Half-measure as stated as much like this gentleman, it or they did not bother with the cIOS, severely limiting HBC's abilities or effectiveness. Ultimately, the benefit of this is questionable at best.

And it is still the use of software as a modification, hence the term softmod.

Exactly, thanks. This user has been "all over the map" in a couple of threads today. I'm thinking he might want to read a lot more before being a self-appointed "expert."
