Well, I burned my first one without still no success. I am going to try a different iso file and see if it changes anything.

My apologies for causing a stir. I was just trying to keep those helping me up to date with what I had going on. I really to appreciate all the assistance that I received from the forum.

I would also like to share my thoughts on going with the mod chip. The way it was sold to me it was reversible. I could take it out and all is well. I was nervous about soft-modding for fear of bricking my brand new Wii. On the surface it appeared easy, which I am finding out it is not. So, a slightly painful lesson has been learned. I will double check the drive information to verify what Krank was saying. I really have no reason to doubt, it is more for my knowledge base. I guess my next step is getting the SD card ready to go if it is really that easy. I have plenty of USB drives to use.

No stir caused. I was just surprised you were still trying to burn disks without first trying to see if this is your issue. Which most likely is if the wii is less then a month old.

Softmodding is quite easy once you understand the process. Read the sticky's in the newbies section and then have a look at the sofmodding guides. It is all very straightforward and I explained how to do it over the phone with my 10 year old cousin, he had no issues. ( We live far away so I couldn't do it for him)

Well, I took a look at the SoftMod guides and it does look pretty easy and straight forward. My plan is to make sure that I have all the correct info written down about my Wii prior to starting anything though.
Being able to play games from a USB drive seems painless and then using the software to manage my iso files via a PC appears to be straight forward as well.

Krank - Thanks again and once I have this thing up and running I will donating. If I would have gotten this type of help withe my PSP I might still be modding that as well. Great forum.

I have gotten my USB external drive formatted with WBFS manager. I have looked at a couple of soft mod guides and feel that I am ready to do this.

    Krank - thanks again.

Great, good luck with the softmod. Just follow the steps closely and make sure they complete with no errors. NAND backup and Priiloader are generally considered optional steps but I highly recommend installing priiloader as well as making a NAND backup with bootmii.
    Damn I suck!!!!
