Exclamation Can't get USB Loader to work? Am I missing an install step?

Ok so I've tried just about EVERYTHING and i'm simply confused. I've read the readmii and the readme and everything else. I'm ready to give up but I have a few questions.

Ok so I went to install the USB Loader and I dragged the files from the folder 'for your sd card' to my SD card. I opened my homebrew channel and I saw CIOS222 Installer v5 (CIOS for uLoader) and USB Loader as 2 additional options. I have no idea what to do with the cIOS 222 installer so I didn't touch it.

When I tried to get USB loader to recognize my drive (plugged into the correct slot) it doesn't. I had it formatted on a mac computer, but went and re-did everything on a PC through the WBFS manager and tried again and it's still not working.

I tried the wad manager method, but I can't even see the wad file in my wad manager. Is the CIOS uloader an integral part that I'm missing to this installation? Is it my drive?

I'm trying to check which drives work, but there's no working list online. Everyone links to the same site on gbatemp that's no longer around.

I recently checked out this site and found this. Will this solve my problem?

You are correct. Not all hard drives are compatible. The safest bet is to go with a Western Digital external hard drive as most are compatible. You will want to install CIOS222 installer but I don't believe you need it to run USB loader. Do you have the USB hard drive plugged into the correct port? It must be in the one closest to the edge of the console not the one closer to the middle. Also, what version of usb loader are you using?

Not all drives are compatible, that is correct. Check the list and if it's on there as working try using the usb loading link in my signature. You can load most games off of ios 249. You'll get it going!

ps: please don't link to external guides. I changed it for you.

I couldn't get my drive working and it wasnt on the compatibility list but in the end i did by using wii flow starting up through wii flow 222

Check this link for guide http://www.wiihacks.com/other-faq-gu...-settings.html

The only problem I found was when I tried to start wii flow with hdd on it locked whilst loading wii flow - so you have to wait until the please insert usb device screen flashes up then start your drive or you could go the NForwarder way so as soon as you start the wii it goes straight into wii flow with the hdd switched on before hand and it loads (dont ask why this works with this method and not through the actual wii menu)

It may still not work but another option.

Why do I need to install the CIOS222 installer? What exactly does it do? Yes, i've hooked it up to the closest usb port. Thanks.

Keep in mind that we only support guides from our site since we know they work. I've used the usb link in my sig many times. 222 is used in lots of music games like guitar hero 5. I've used 249 for every other game i've ever played except for gh5. Run through the guide below and you'll be up and running if you have cios38rev14 or rev17 installed and your guide is compatible.

I dont know what I did differently, but I just went and re-formatted it on the PC with the WBFS thing again and added a game to it. I put it in my wii and loaded it again and this time it worked. I really don't know what I did differently though. I had a few more questions now that I have it working. How do I get multiple file isos to turn into one game ? Also, this still isn't showing up in my wad installer. These are the only files that my wad shows (see pic). I want the wad to work because I want to make a channel out of it.
