Wiimote desyncs, won't resync, when installing Hermes cIOS v4

Yes, well, I've been trying to install cIOS 222 so I can use USBLoader GX. The thing is, as soon as I press A to accept, the Wiimote desync. Then I get to the menu where I can install cIOS 202 (Homebrew), 222 (Default) or 223. But the Wiimote refuses to sync up with the Wii. The lights blink a few times but nothing happens. I've tried pressing the red button on the Wii (Knew it wouldn't work, but tried anyway) without any success.

Same thing happens when I chose 249 in the first menu.

... What's wrong? Any way around this? Appreciate any help.

    I used this guide:
Hack Your Wii for Homebrew without Twilight Princess

And thank you for your quick reply.

    Hi there,
Put the contents of the cios38r17 Installer folder on the root of you sd card and run from the HBC
Then you can choose 249 to install 202,222&223
