I was wondering this too, I tried searching for wiiconnect24, and could not find exactly what I wanted to know.
My situation is this...I have system menu 4.2 USA. PriiLoader Installed, AutoUpdate hack installed and running. As well as the prevent disc update hack running from PriLoader. PriiLoader also boots my Wii into USB Loader GX. And when I run a game from my HDD the "Return to Wii Menu" takes me back to the USB Loader. The only way for me to see my system menu is to hol Power and Reset to get into the PriiLoader menu and select System Menu. I have the WiiConnect 24 turned on from the System Menu. I want to be able to play games online. And ensure that I do not accidently upgrade the system menu as everything is working for me right now. What settings should I use? What should I do in my System Menu? This week, when the 4.3 system menu upgrade became available, my Wii was flashing the disc drive blue. I did not know what it was, so I booted the Wii with PriiLoader holding Power and Reset. Then, I went into the System Menu from PriiLoader, and was able to read the mail about the 4.3 system menu being available. I DID NOT UPGRADE! What steps do I need to take to stay safe, play online games, ensure that any discs I want to run or rip do not trigger an update, etc. Thanks.

Yes! I just saw this too. I will but that setting enabled now! Thanks. What about leaving the WiiConnect 24 On or Off? I rarely go into my system menu these days at all. I used to use the Internet Channel or the Mii Channels, etc. But now, I usually just use the USB Loader to run a game and that's it. So if I want to play online games, should my WiiConnect 24 be on or off? If it is off, can I still play a game online? Thanks.
