Games on drive only present while other ones are.

Hi Guys! I have encountered a weird problem in which Monster Hunters Tri would work only if I do not have Zelda:TP on my hdd. It also goes the same way that if If I do not have Monster Hunters Tri Zelda would work. So whichever game I have installed latest would work while the previous one would not work. Also to add that the error happens during USB Loder Gx when I try to click on the game that was added first it would cause the usbloader gx to hang. I don't know if any of you guys have encountered this one so please feel free to jump in as I am a newbie still and new to the homebrew scene.

Sounds like an issue with your drive, not one of getting the game to work because of the problems in the guide of this thread.

Oh I see I did not know it was drive related my apologies. I thought it was something to do with CIOS installations and whatnot. Thank you for a fast response since you are here may I ask does it have anything to do with my black wii? I know i have the d- whatever drive but I was able to rip the Zelda game into the Hdd but with that caused the error with Monster Hunter Tri etc.

I couldn't say what caused the error for sure as there are alot of possibilities and I am unable to know how you set the drive up and what methodology you used to backup your games.
The fact that it ever works at all would indicate that it is not a problem with the wii or it's system files (cios and ios's). I do know that a configuration file is created on the sd card for whatever particular loader you are using and it is updated when you rip a game. There could be a problem there, especially if the wii thinks (according to the configuration file) that there is supposed to be a game starting in a particular sector of the drive. When it is absent it can't find it and doesn't know what to do.
I have heard of ppl deleting this file and starting the loader up so a new one can be created.

Yea just do some searching and see if you find any other data to support my theory ( I don't have a harddrive with a bunch of games to know personally). If so you can either delete or amend that config file, whatever and whereever it may be. Also there may be some other good idea from other ppl, either posting on this thread or in others you will encounter on your searching.

Hey guys also another question about reverting back to a previous usbloader gx version... do i need to uninstall it first (if so how do i uninstall it) or can i just run the reverted wad to overwrite the latest build of the loader?

It is ALWAYS better to uninstall before installing a different one, and make sure to read about that config file since this uninstall reinstall won't have any effect on that. It is on the sd card not the wii system memory.
