Searching would have brought this up http://www.wiihacks.com/homebrew-dow...installer.html
I've been trying to get the shop channel to work but i cant seem to get it i dont know what I'm missing I've installed IOS61
still the channel keeps saying that it needs an update
I'm on system menu 3.2u
I don`t know if this would help but if i was you i would update to 4.1. I used a very good program called "Pinp My Wii" and it tells you what ios`s are outdated and installs all that latest ios`s for you. it also installs the latest channel and safely updates your wii to 4.1. I have done this myself and have not come into any problems
*EDIT* Sorry, forgot to say it also install ios`s that you don`t have on your machine like i think ios55 or 56 what ever one is needed to play games like megaman 10

A much safer option would be to follow this guide http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...d-softmod.html

You have only read bad press about it from people who used it but did not know what they was doing! I found it to be a very usefull program
You can choose what to install with it, it don`t just do everything for you. Its very handy as well to do tests to see what ios`s you got and if they are outdated
But if your a "noob" then yeah i see your point but if you use it right then you won`t have any problems.
I have used it at least 3 times to softmod a wii and not had a single problem, but then i don`t see myself as a "noob" and know what im doing. after all, been using computers for the last 25 years lol
i have used it and i recommend dop-mii or multi-mod manager...noob friendly
@ Washer. Narse told you EXACTLY how to get the wii shop channel working on system menus below 4.2. Are you ignoring good advice because it wasn't the answer you wanted. If you use Pimp my wii i would just go ahead and start a thread in the Bricked Wii section at the same time to save yourself the trouble. The support you will generally receive from this community is geared toward the guides you will find on THIS forum. The results using these guides are proven over and over again. If we know the steps you are taking then we can usually steer you right. You will notice there is no Pimpmywii guide in the recommended guides section of the site. This is for a reason. The same reason there is no ciosCORP guide. This all being said Narse1979 gave you exactly the right answer if you choose not to follow if that's your decision but either way i think this thread should be closed. I've seen threads closed quicker for ignoring valid answers.
If i helped you please click thanks.

Well ive told you one good thing!
You dont actually have much control over what it is changing and that is good enough reason for me not to use it.
If I changed one thing and something went wrong then at least I would know it was that 1 thing that has probably caused the issue but when you use PimpMyWii it changes a whole lot more.
Using computers for 25 yrs is irrelevant, is this an app for the PC or Mac?
