If I changed one thing and something went wrong then at least I would know it was that 1 thing that has probably caused the issue but when you use PimpMyWii it changes a whole lot more.

Using computers for 25 yrs is irrelevant, is this an app for the PC or Mac?
How can you say that when a few posts ago you said you not used it so how would you know what is does?

And you saying using computers for 25 years is irrelevant? Is a wii not a computer but srunk down to just play games? same as any over game console?

Ok guys..... Really if i would have seen this at post 2 i would have closed it....

The OP asked a simple question and it was answered.... Nothing about "Pimp My Wii" should have been brought up... But since it did here goes. "Pimp My Wii" is not for the inexperianced wii hacker, there was a valid point made about it when it was said "why do you think there is no guide" becasue wiihacks and its members have come to the conclusion that there are better programs out there as cile mention... If you need to update your IOS use Junkmail's Thread on IOS as .wads or use DOP-MII

Just to clarify, It is in fact an app that automates the process of changing ios's on the system, just like cioscorp. We know this not only by reading about it on the net, but by working on helping others in the forum.
You can use any app you like, but using an automated process will do things without your control. So if something goes wrong, it is very hard to retrace the steps and fix the problem.
A step-by-step guide does offer the ability for someone to retrace their steps and see where/when something went wrong.
The main concern here is, how can we help you with a problem if you are using an automated process to alter system files and cannot retrace your steps to the point that an issue occured. This is the sort of thing that makes it all the more difficult, using automatted apps, following other sites guides that offer no support, or a youtube video that can be faked.
The ppl who create the guides do it in a step-by-step manner and it gives us the ability to help in a manner that doesn't require having to rethink the wii.

Having an understanding of how files work, wheather it is on a pc or anything else, is a plus, but the most important thing is to be able to read and follow directions. My 8 year old hacked the first wii in our house and he obviously didn't have 25 years of experience on a pc.
Sent from my van, down by the river.
