    Bootmii question

I have both BootMii and Preloader (ver .30, i think) installed and was wanting to have a more recent backup of my NAND.

i held the reset button in while turning on the wii and it loaded right into Preloader instead of Bootmii. last time i tried that ( probably 9 months ago ) i'm almost positive it loaded the Bootmii menu instead of Preloader. i had my SD card in the wii with the prepared bootmii files on it ...so i don't know why it wont launch into Bootmii.

i actually see the Bootmii menu flash for a second before Preloader loads ...so the only way i can get to the Bootmii menu is to let go of the 'reset' button the moment i see Bootmii flash on the screen. sometimes it'll take a couple of tries before i finally catch it.

this can't be normal. i'm almost positive that i remember loading Bootmii with ease before.

i also reinstalled bootmii and prepared another different SD card to see if that would matter, but it didn't.

so does anyone know why Bootmii briefly flashes on the screen and then loads up Preloader instead?

    what's the deal with that?

thanks so much for your time and responses. any help is greatly appreciated.

PS: i have bootmii installed as boot2, if you need that info.

heh ...i was just going to respond by saying that's how i fixed it.

i feel kinda stupid now, but that's what happens i guess when you don't bother with your Wii in about 9 months. you start forgetting some of these things.

but yes, as you say, not holding the reset button is the trick to get bootmii to load (provided that the prepared SD card is in the Wii).

holding the reset button brings you to the Preloader menu. sorry for the scew up you guys, but thanks for the help. problem solved !
