How can I tell If my wii is modded?

I own a 4.2E wii and have followed many guides to hack it...however I am unsure if it is modded yet. I have the homebrew and the neo gamma channel, however backup games still wont work. Neo Gamma R7 tells me, Disk Read Error 1101 and backup loader channel tells me Disk Read error 324.

I have two different games burnt on two dvd-r's and both display the same error. The bottom of Neo Gamma displays IOS249 Rev7.

Have I correctly modded my wii? If not, what am i doing wrong?

    thanks

Rev7? Well you might wanna update that for one thing to 14 or 17.
Sent from my van, down by the river.

Do a sys check and might actually show us what you have got.
D/L Sys check in my Signature
Unzip and put contained folder in apps folder on sd card, if you havent got one create one on the root of the sd card like this sd:\\ apps
Go to HB run syscheck, when its finished exit and take sd card back to your computer.
On root od SD CArd will be a csv file open that with wordpad.

note the csv file will say its associated with excel but just open with word pad.

    Now copy and paste here

You have cios rev 14 so you could upgrade to rev 17.
    http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...installer.html

If your wii is new it could be the drive chipset and wont allow you to play backups from dvd only way would be hdd.

Try putting your wii serial number in here to see what the results are Wii Drive Chip Database

Serial number can be found on side of the wii

The Wii has a RVL-001(AUS) model number and is produced for the south Pacific region, i.e. Australia, New Zealand. The copyright year is 2006.

Your drive most likely has the following chipset:

    • There is a 100% chance the chipset is GC2-D3S on a smaller drive board.

    What does this mean?

Edit: also, i have downloaded rev 17 and the readme says to place on root of sd and run on wii, however I cannot find it in the homebrew channel...any ideas?

    1048, 1053 & 1101:
DVD Read Error Bad burn/media or incorrect cios/neogamma version. If you are laready using Verbatim DVD-r burned at 4x,. Also this error will persist on newer wiis, meaning that they have the new D3-2 chip which cannot read backups at all. Only option for them is USB loading.
It means you havent got one of these chips which is good.

Id suggest you install cios rev 17 as per that guide and see what happens.

How are you burning your DVD's, what speed, what media etc
