    Primary HDD and Black Screen.

I am having trouble setting my WBFS partition to primary. When I went through the New Partition Wizard I was only able to choose Logical Drive. In all the guides and posts I've read none mention HOW to set the HDD to primary and active. I was able to Google the active portion but have had no luck in finding how to set the HDD to primary.

I'm also having trouble with black screens when I try to load games via USB Loader GX. I think this may be my problem, but I've been wrong before.

    Thanks for your help,
    BugWii

Your questions relating to the HD setup/partitioning/options including the ones you ask about are detailed here. On the other subject, did you follow a wiihacks softmodding guide? If so, Neo Gamma should have come with the downloads. Does it black screen as well?

Prior to posting, I had followed the HD setup guide you offered. The OP made only one mention of setting a drive to primary stating to "Make your new partition PRIMARY and ACTIVE." That explanation hasn't been sufficient in answering my question, making me think that it must be rather easy to set the HD to primary and active.

Also, I did follow a WiiHacks softmodding guide (ShadowSonic2's). I've tried to load games with Neo Gamma, CFG USB Loader and USB Loader GX to no avail. USB Loader GX has been my closest shot, as CFG informs me that there is no WBFS partition (probably due to the partition not being set to primary,) and Neo Gamma doesn't do anything after I select USB.

    What am I missing here?

    Thanks,

Lock this thread down nightstah! I found the solution!!!

I was using Disk Management in XP to partition my HDD to a non-formatted partition. I wasn't able to select select primary when creating the partition but was able to make it active via Command Prompt.

SOLUTION: Partition with EASEUS Partition Master 5.8.1 Home Edition (free) to a NTFS non-formatted partition (primary and active). Then use WBFS Manager to format the partition to WBFS add games and enjoy!

In my research I found lost of people asking questions about black screens (that wasn't game specific.) It might be worth adding to the guide you posted a link to earlier.

    Thanks again!
