Do I need to perform both these tasks? I'm unsure if I have cIOSx rev 19 installed, but I do see IOS222 under WAD Manager 1.5. I remember seeing IOS249 a lot when I was softmidding my Wii.

Not sure, but using this format will significantly save room on any HDD.

    -Wii Menu 4.2U / DARKCORP v1.1 / BootMii as boot2 / Preloader v0.30-
    -USB HDD / Wiiflow 2.0 / Triiforce / VC Image-Pack / cIOS Wads-

All the different file system formats can have the ISO scrubbed, just like WBFS. When converting the .iso to .wbfs for use on FAT32 or NTFS, the image will get scrubbed to save size.

IOS222 you installed with wad manager? oh, how do you know what the base IOS is if you didn't use hermes cIOS installer to install IOS222. Did it say in the tutorial you used? IOS222 could be installed with 38, or it could be installed with 38 merged with 37, I wonder which it was.

One way to find out, go to the global settings in Configurable USB Loader and set IOS222 to be the default IOS, it is probably set to IOS249. Then restart the usb loader and check to see if you can see the games in the wbfs folder.

Ahh ... totally slipped my mind -- I've never dealt with scrubbed ISO's; and because of WBFS, everything seems so automatic

WBFS manager scrubbs the games for you, so all your ISO are scrubbed.

In the tutorial the guy mentioned IOS249 several times so, I gathered it was important. Their was an optional Hermes cIOS install that I didn't do because the guide said you only need it if you use the usb ports for microphones and instruments.

I watched a guy on YouTube walk through the guide. The guide is "edit" This is where I downloaded the guide:

You do realize the following, right?

    1. Failtube ain't the way
    2. Your oh-so-casual mention of something significant makes this entire thread immediately suspect.

Darn Stomp, I edited it and then you re-edited it --- thread closed, this ain't going anywhere. Total failure, IMO... (your ball, but I saw no point in keeping this open).

IOS202, 222, 223 you will need to somethings. Install them like this and all will be fine.

IOS202, install from Hermes v5, with a base of 60.
    IOS222, install from Hermes v4, as 38.
    IOS223, install from Hermes v4, as 38 merged 37.

    Hermes v5
    Hermes v4

Install hermes v4 like I posted above, not like the tutorial says.

Please no links of youtube tutorials here.
