WBFS format for USBLoaderGX (cant format my hard drive)

For some reason I cant format my hard drive from my Wii directly (using USBLoaderGX).
I have formatted the hard drive as Fat32 and tried to reformat using multiple partitions, and also using 1 partition. It just wont work! I am using a Mac because its all I have available to me currently. I downloaded "WBFS for MacOS X" and it will not recognize my hard drive. This is very frustrating and I wish there was a simple solution, besides using a PC. I have searched forums everywhere and cannot find anything.

If anybody has any suggestions I would really appreciate it.

I am running ios249 and using the latest version of USBLoaderGX.

I wrote a guide on this but it has yet to be approved. :-(

the reason it is not working is because it is a GUID partition. Open up DIsk utility again. go to partition again but this time click options and check master boot record instead of GUID. select fat and click apply. when it is done select 1 partition again check Master boot record again but this time select empty space instead of fat. click apply. remove the drive pop it in your wii and this time it should format no problem.
If i helped you please click thanks.

Have you tried following gen3sf's outstanding guide for usb loading? After following it and you're still having issues, post in that thread -- someone will be able to help you there.

    -Wii Menu 4.2U / DARKCORP v1.1 / BootMii as boot2 / Preloader v0.30-
    -USB HDD / Wiiflow 2.0 / Triiforce / VC Image-Pack / cIOS Wads-

Could try a different version of usb loader as it sounds like a lot of people are having problems with the latest but what Raidrummer posted sounds good to try 1st

Question I have the same problem as was posted in this forum.

I tried re-formatting it as a FAT32 and master boot record. It is a brand new western digital 250 gb drive. When i plugged it into the wii and open USB Loader gx I got a message to either format or select. i chose format and got an "Exception (DSI) occurred" error, after various trials. I reformatted it to empty space and tried it. I instead got a window showing 4 partitions and stating that neither was reformable. I finally decided to choose the select with a FAT32 and master boot record, 1 partition setup. It opened, I managed to rip a Mario Kart which I have in CD. However, the format continues to be FAT32 and is not recognized by WBFS manager for os x when connected to my mac. When i try to play mario kart it crashes into a blank black screen. I cannot format it to WBFS Manager for os x and have no access to a windows computer in which I could install the WBFS manager there. Is there any other way in which I could format the drive to WBFS otherwise?

    Other Comments:
    I disabled the WD smartware

Ever since the USB Loader opened the drive, no matter how i reformat the drive it no longer asks to reformat it to WBFS

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have tried all of the guides i have found and none work. I'm getting a tad desperate for a solution. It would again be GREATLY appreciated.
