If you've got a situaltion where its bricked with an error on the screen and you're under warranty, smack it off the ground, be careful not to leave marks, and when it arrives at Nintendo broken, they'll count their losses due to your crappy packing methods or whatever, and most likely send you a new one, or repair it overlooking any mods as they'll automatically do a fresh install afterwards anyways, but from what i can gather when I spoke to the representitive, they recylcle most returns, and send out a new one, because of the new chipset.

I just have to say that this isn't true either lol . Sorry.... and I'm completely against just "smacking it on the ground" so Nintendo will give you a new one. Enough on this topic though.

    Cheers.
    Damn I suck!!!!

i already agreed that anything would void the warranty, but lying about it could help...lol they won't research that far into the problem, they're more concerned with getting the product back out to the 'customer', not see if they're a 'criminal', or a 'liar'. Like I said, If you TELL them that you've softmodded, then they've have a legal obligation to deny you service, this doesn't apply to hardmods, cause you wouldn't send a hardmod in anyways. If the inner seal isn't broken, the less they know, the better, in fact....My 4 year old 3.2U Wii(rev-001) got bricked last week because patch60, and 70 was uninstalled, so needless to say the screen went, and stayed black. I called Nintendo for a repair number, and that it was out of warranty, so I had to pay $90 out of my pocket, and I sent it out Thursday, and they called me today to say they are happy to have me as a customer, and your Wii package will be shipped tomorrow.So....I'm not sure who to believe, me or you...lol

There is no internal seal in the Wii as I never broke one when I opened mine.

oh there's a seal, it may not be a lil silver sticker like on harddrives, it could be where the screws came out, or where the metal protector was lifted, i was told there was a seal, I didn't open one yet to see, though, if I can't softmod the one that they're returning me, I might try, and get WODE, and I hope they don't give me the newest chipset, as i read that WODE doesn't support the new systems....Any thought Fav?

The WODE works fine with the new chipset its just that you won't be able to load via disc and will ahve to stick to USB Loading.

When I install my wasabi dx, there was a very small silver seal over the drive. It was imposible to remove my drive without disturbing this seal.

The only "seal" is that Nintendo does not sell the little stickers that cover of the screws on the bottom of the unit as a replacement part. Even if you save the old ones on wax paper you will still damage at least one and the aftermarket ones sold with replacement cases do not match.

Must be a new thing. only thing i've ever come across are the small stickers that hold the WIFI antenna leeds in place but they fall off over time so they will not know if you helped them fall off early.
If i helped you please click thanks.

Thanks again for all the great WODE answers. I think this thread has gotten WAYYYYYY of topic into Nintendo warranty abuse which i don't approve of. Me thinks it's time to close this thread.

Well I believe that you did send your wii to nintendo because I kinda did that too. But then just not with my wii hehe. I bought the new final fantasy dissidia bundle psp and bricked it with chickhen and this one loader thing so i can play iso and backups watever on my psp. Then one day i really did got home and turned my psp on and i notice it was bricked. I searched google and they said that it either was Uloader or chickhen was dangerous to the psp and can cause brick so i was like WTF so then it bricked my psp!!!. But then luckily my sister was like oh well just send it in to sony because my sister called and told them that our psp was bricked. They even tried to scare us with bull shit like oh if u tried to mod it then u will be charged and my sister was like ok. I sented my psp in boom next week you know my psp was in the mail i was like yeah. but the bad news was they updated my psp so i couldn't put chickhen in there anymore im stuck on 6.00 now errgh
