Used Netflix Disc to watch movies, and now back up games won't load.

So, my wii has got the Drive Key and is soft modded. Everything has been working fantastically for playing any back-up game I've thrown at it. Got the Netflix disc (I am a netflix customer) and ran the disc following the recommended instructions. Watched a couple of movies, and was very happy with the quality and service. Now I'm beginning to regret running the Netflix disc because I am now unable to load any of my back up games either through the Drive Key or NeoGamma. I get an error message saying "Unable to read the disc". Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Ok, so here is an update for this issue. I have the bad habit of leaving my wii on for months at a time, so I tuned it off and let it rest. After a day, I inserted an original wii disc and it loaded and played perfectly. I then blew into the disc drive area, thinking that dust may be collecting on the optics glass. I then inserted a back up game and it loaded and played just fine. I tried both NeoGamma and using the Drive Key and back up discs seemed to be working just fine. I tested other back up games and found that some loaded, but did not play, and others would not load at all. At this point I think it is clear that it was just a coincidence that the disc reading issue happened right after running the NetFlix disc, because if it had loaded some kind of software onto the wii, then I would have a consistent playability issue rather than an intermittent one. It would seem I may have an optical drive issue with the Wii. I will try a cleaning disc (the one with one of those tiny cleaning brushes) and cross my fingers. If that does not solve the readability issue, I'm guessing I may need to replace a part, or the unit itself. Any thoughts on this?

When you say you leave it on for months at a time. Do you mean on standby or fully on? Meaning a green light all the time?

By "recommended instructions," are you refering to the ones from netflix or our guide here (as there are some harmful pesky updates on that disc)?

As far as leaving the Wii on for longer periods of time, I had left it running both on (green light) and in standby mode (yellow light), which I think was a very dumb thing to have done.
As far as the recommended instructions I followed when running the Netflix disc, I followed the Netflix instructions, which again I believe was a very dumb thing to have done. Lesson learned, and will be far more careful in the future, but how to undo the mess I made is now the question.
I went ahead and ran the Wii lens cleaning kit a few times and it made a big difference, but still got disc reading errors. I opened up the Wii and cleaned the optical lens by hand really well and I now have even less loading and reading errors, but still am unable to load my back-ups of SSBB or NSMB and still have some loading and readability issues with other back up games. Note: I never had any loading or readability errors ever in the past, not even once.

so i said to update the IOS 55 and 53 and he has done that and NOW!!!!!!

Your lens might be going out or something. Why don't you try for a USB loading option? Currently I have the netflix disc on my wii USB drive, and load it from a channel. I gave the disc to some friends and they use my netflix account sometimes but I can still watch it on my wii.

Have you tried some USB loading to see if that helps?

I think that u have to look at the possibility that the laser is struggling and about to pack up.

but what about the USB problem......
