Can't copy a game with USB Loader GX

    Hi!

My problem seems trivial to me, but I cannot find anything in the search. I want to copy the games I bought onto my hard drive for use with USB Loader GX. I downloaded one of those games and it runs great from USB loader. (So I guess I formated and connected the drive all right.) But every time I put a game (NSMB, the current harry potter, ...) in the drive, click the install button and confirm, I just see the USB loader background and no drive activity. I waited 15 minutes, without anything changing, no access to the dvd drive or the hard drive. I can move the pointer around, but no button does anything and I cannot turn it off, but by holding power for 4 seconds. This happened with 4 different games, which play through normal means on this wii.

What I found out about my system (again I'm new ):

    • 4.2E
    • cios38rev14 (how do I get this number from my Wii? I copied it from messies guide, which I used, so I guess that must be the version I've got.)
    • Homebrew 1.0.6 (IOS61 v21.29)
    • USB Loader GX Rev929c (IOS249 (Rev14)), but I had first rev850 of USB Loader with the same problem.
    • 2.5" USB drive which seems to works with USB loader connected to the right (outer) USB port.

I hope the information is all you need and thanks in advance for reading,
    Jakob

It's not the game...you can try it without the game and it does the same thing
the games are not the issue...because B4, you would click install without a disc in and ou would still get a prompt of some sort (please insert disc)...now when I try it flashes a screen very quickly

Dont know what the first means, sorry. The games I tried are PAL, yes.

And I saw the same thing KappNeffect saw: There seems to be a window for a split second, which disappears.

No one? Should I perhaps ask in the Dumping&Burning forum instead?

try deleting the USB Loader GX configuration file-it can get corrupted. It will be created the next time you start up USB Loader GX. By the way-on the USB Loader GX menu screen will be displayed your cIOS version-should read IOS248rev 14 or 17. If the config file recreation doesn;t fix the problem, are you using the latest revision of USB Loader GX? The current revisions are having a bad run right now. Try R919 as that seems a stable revision.

Or try a different loader and see if anything installs. That will tell you if is a hard drive problem or not.
