Can my wii run out of memory from game saves?

My softmodded wii runs a 500GB hard drive, I've got almost 120 games on it right now and was wondering if my Wii's memory will soon get low because of all the game saves.

Yes it will run out of memory. I too have a 500GB HDD and had to remove some game saves that weren't needed anymore to make room for more save games.

Look in data managment and see how many blocks you have left. If you need more room you can store them on an SD card if you are on system menu 4.0 or above.
    Damn I suck!!!!

Yes it can you just have to prioritize whats stays on the wii's memory ,thats why i put all wiiware games on sd and play from there(don't use triiforce)the sd feature takes up a good bit and so does the internet channel if all came to all i would delete the internet channel as i don't use it anymore I use to laptop for internet

One of the biggest things about softmodding is the amount of space that can be saved by removing a couple items. The first would be the 'welcome to the internet' which is a video which shows what you can do on the net with your wii. The way to delete this channel is to start playing (it has to be played once) then exit right away. This would then allow you to go into data management and channels to delete it. This frees up the most at around 1600 blocks it's a biggie. Next would be the internet channel if you have other options (such as Luckys laptop).

Games saves can sometimes not be copied to the SD card. You can use priiloader to allow the copy of them in the settings. Some games can use 125 blocks or more and if your not playing those games then you'd better to remove it when getting low on space. Remember to ensure if you are softmodding to always check you have at least 250 blocks free before starting otherwise you could end up with issues due to not enough space.

    Good luck.

    Hi,

Is there any way to have the game saves on the hard disk?

Where's all my Wii save space gone :(

I too have this problem of low Wii space, have done all of the suggested methods:

    - Delete or Move un-needed gamesaves to SD card via the data management menu,
    - move wiiware, VC & channels to an SD card (accessible from the SD card menu firmware v4.1)

But even now I still struggle with save space ,,, and perhaps some genius out there can resolve this with this suggestion ..

    - I have used a neat, yet old, Wii homebrew app called 'savegame manager', which easily transfers save-game data from the Wii to an SD card, it loads very fast, and it's lightening quick to transfer data.
(now here's the idea) ... could this savegame tool be incorporated into programs such as neogamma or usbloader, so that when a game from HDD or disc is loaded the correct gamesave is 'copied' from the SD card onto the Wii. Then at next load of another game the previous 'updated' savegame on the Wii is moved back on the SD card, before it begins to copy the savegame for the next loaded game ..

so basically the method is this .. (assuming all savegames are backed up on the SD card)

1- Game disc/hdd insert - game identified, correct savegame is pulled from the sd card sent to the wii
2- Game loads up, savegame is on the wii, game runs as normal ... game finished
3- Next Game disk/hdd run, previous savegame on wii is sent to the sd card overwriting the original
4- savegame is pulled from the sd card and sent to the wii (back to step 1)

    etc. etc. etc

Do you think this would work ,,, could someone simplify my idea and pass the suggestions onto the genius's behind the neogamma & usbloader homebrew apps ??

If the savegame manager program can do it, I'm sure it's possible, it may take a few extra seconds to load up a game, but this would resolve the tiresome manual process of moving games back and forth to the SD just to reclaim some blocks of space

No it wouldn't work. The wii can only access saves from the NAND.

that's what I meant ,,,, the Wii is still using the Wii nand for game saves as standard,

but the gamesave is automatically copied BEFORE the game is loaded
