    Illegal Wii Classic controller?

I ordered a Wii Controller from Hong Kong, and it has the legit Wii stamp on the front of it, a copyrighted stamp from Nintendo. The controller is not a legit one at all, even with the stamp. I noticed that the back of the controller did not have the Nintendo engraving on the back, inside the small circle on the back side of the controller.

If I'm not mistaken... 3rd party non-OEM controllers are not allowed to have their controllers branded with the Wii logo at all, it should be blank, otherwise it is copyright infringement? Is what they have done illegal? I have written them a message stating that it wasn't a legit one. All they said was that they are sorry, and that they want me to send it back. When they get it, they will either give me my money back, or send me a new one. As a customer, I shouldn't have to return it, since this is their fault, and that they are doing something illegal, right? Should I complain to Ebay and Paypal about it? To get my money back and for the bootlegging they are doing?

    Opinions and suggestions please.

EDIT: Oh yeah... the reason I don't want to return it is because I will have to pay shipping, and then that 3 week wait again... it's just a waste of my time and money... what kind of refund is that?

Well it depends on how much you paid for it, I would assume it was really cheap, or you wouldn't have bought it from Hong Kong. The thing is, the item was probably made in China, who are not known for great concerns around copyright. You could put in a claim via paypal since the item is not as you were lead to believe, ie not official Nintendo product. You haven't said if it works okay, is it as sturdy as the 3rd party ones avaialble in the shops? but cheaper? To be honest if it works fine, was cheaper than a official one in your local shop then just keep it, but its your choice.

It doesn't want to work with some VC games, and it being detected on emulators is out of the question. I think I will go through paypal and complain.

And I also just tried an official controller today with everything, and it all works. So I traded mine to her for it. She was fine, since she only uses it for Wii games.

Nice, I might grab one of those adapters. I have a n64 to USB adapter but I've never tried it with the wii. Might break out the old n64 later and try it out. ( It's made for a computer so I doubt it will but its worth a shot)
    Damn I suck!!!!
