    The Homebrew Channel Update?

Hi After setting up wi-fi on the Wii, I keep getting a pop-up telling that there is a new version of The Homebrew Channel available and if I would like to update it. Is it safe to update it? It won't change anything accept the app? Thanks!

Its ok ok to update as bmario says dont except disk or online updates. Have you got pri-loader installed? You can switch these off via the hacks menu on that.

I never heard of that, maybe if you update bootmi in the hackmi installer, but never heard of homebrew channel update destroying boot2.

If you are able to install as boot2 then even after an update you can re-install as boot2 again. The update just re-writes the boot2 to wipe bootmii off. The only thing that hinders boot2 install is a invulnerable boot1 which is read only anyway [so nintendo couldn't rewrite boot1 if they wanted too]. So if you have a vulnerable boot1 in the first place, you always will

Ok, we are talking about the homebrew channel update though, correct? I am a little confused here because I thought this had to do with issues from a system menu update and that homebrew channel update is what was being questioned. It has been a couple of weeks since I did any modding so, who knows.

Didn't even notice that they were talking about the homebrew channel update. The only thing the HBC update did was when preloader was still around and in early development and the switched from haxx to jodi. After an update you were no longer able to access HBC via preloader [until they came out with a newer revision of preloader of course]. But HBC update shouldn't do anything to bootmii. I have updated HBC with bootmii as boot2 and I was fine.
