Help pls - screen resolution of a saved game changed post Hermes installation (v5)

Hi - I've just installed Hermes v5 yesterday so I could install and use UBS Loader GX. I was very proud of myself as I'm very new to conducting these procedures (I just got my 1st wii in January this year).

It seems like the installation was successful until when I opened a saved game (Mario Party 8, Jap version), I notice that the screen size has reduced from a wide screen to a normal TV screen and the resolution was not as high as before... :(

I tried to run the game both from the DVD and USB HDD but I still experienced the same problem... :confused: here is a few info of my wii:
* menu 3.2J
* followed instruction from this site to perform soft mod (i didn't upgrade my menu to 4.1 as my wii didn't have internet access

Don't know what I've done wrong... any help / idea would be great. :026:

Have you looked at the screen settings in the wii settings? Maybe it is 4:3 when you want 16:9. Also check you tvs aspect ratio settings

Both the wii's screen setting and my tv's aspect ratio setting are 16:9.

what is strange is that the introduction screen (i.e. the one that allow you to pick the mini game, pick character etc within the program) is in 16:9 but when i actually start the mini game, the resolution changed to 4:3.

i tried many different things (such as starting a new game, running from CD, running from USB HDD via USB Loader GX) but none work. :confused:

i didn't have this problem before i run the hermes installation. could it be something to do with that? any thing else i could try?

The TV setting is def set to 16:9 not auto as I found this can have a effect on the screen

I've checked my TV setting and it is set to 16:9.
I've also played around video settings in USB Loader GX but no success.
Given that I couldn't remember whether all play screens in Mario Party 8 are displayed at 16:9, could someone pls confirm? I'm so confused now...
