Like I asked before, this is a question on how difficult this will be to disassemble, but the guide that will be posted will be great help and a perfect answer!
Hopefully the guide goes through (I see no reason why not), but I can assure you, no springs will be launching out of your Wii once you open it up. If you follow the guide exactly and not rush things, taking apart and putting back together the Wii should take you no longer than 45 mins. The process is relatively simple. Just be sure to keep track of the screws

Thanks for the share, these are actually pretty cool! But simply placing a "sticker" on your console just isn't the same. I love the retro skin, however ;P

Yeah, just thought it would be less of a hassle than taking the Wii apart! Seems to be a drastic measure to get a new look Wii.
But each to their own! And variety is the spice of life.Besides white is very boring LOL.

I recall that ModderMan started a thread some time ago in the Wii News Announcement forum about the black Wiis. In the subsequent thread was a mention of the Chameleon 2 case replacements for the Wii. There was a choice of about 8 LED colors that shine through the case mod and one multicolor option where the LEDs rotate through the series of colors.

I can see why you would want to replace the case and not paint it. But painting it would be a fine idea. You could airbrush it quite easily and it would have no negative effect on the wii.
    Damn I suck!!!!

Looks like there was already a tutorial on disassembling the Wii. But I would prefer to see the one I submited, which was a step-by-step guide (with detailed photos & simple instructions). Hope this helps anyone looking to modding there case or even installing a mod-chip.
