Just follow the guide for your system menu. Hard mod doesn't affect softmod and vice versa.
    Damn I suck!!!!

Yes indeed. Make sure you follow the CORRECT guide for your system menu version. ( 3.1-4.1 dogeggs guide - 4.2 Messie or ShadowSonics guide) Stick to one guide only and make sure you complete every step.

If you would like to thank someone just click the little thanks button at the bottom of the post.

    Cheers and good luck!

I have done this. The only downside is that it essentially eliminates the chip, thus having caused you to waste money sort of. . . .

Do you go through with all the steps in a softmod or just install stuff needed for homebrew ( the homebrew channel , bootmii , cIOS rev 17 and eventually IOS 202,222 and 223 ) ?
If it's already hard-modded you can play backups , no need to mess with IOS'es to get them patched or replaced or whatever . Also ,you can't do accidental disk or online updates . Is Priiloader really necessary in this case ?I'm thinking of a softmod as lightweight as possible if you're already chipped

You have to complete all the steps in the guide... otherwise you will not have a sucessful softmod and you could brick.... FOLLOW the guide to the "t"
