ok been reading through guide after guide regarding getting the nsmbw working

I am as confused as when I started. Bought my wii about 3 years ago put a d2ckey mod chip in it. installed the home brew channel. My wii is currently 3.1, the last things I installed was a geckos 1.7b, 1.9, and the 002 fix for geckos last game I burned was mad world. With a 360 modded and PS3 I never play the thing well kids and myself really want to play the new super mario brothers game so I am trying to update it and am reading tutorial and post after post but with multiple methods it has made me confused. I don't want to remove my modchip and go all soft mod. I don't want to run the game through usb loader don't have a external usb drive to use right now maybe later I will tinker with that. I want to run it from the disc. I definetly don't want to brikc this thing, I have an ntsc console by the way. Can some tell me what I need to do exactly with my set up. If I soft mod my system does that keep my modchip from being a effective or change it in any way or lead to conflicting configuration. Do i have to update to the 4.1. Too many guides on what method to us what is the one I should do.

Any of them... Dave_PM, there's also a guide by pet1 for disc loading that I've tried out. Both guides work. Install cios38rev17.... Keep at it. We really don't need another thread on this game.

CAN YOU GIVE ME A LIKE OF WHAT TUTORIALS YOU LINKED, I am finding this is a situation where there is just too much info out there and to many types and considering if I choice the wrong tutorial I will brick my wii I need to make sure I am on the right path.

Thanks that was one of the ones I have been looking at, just didn't realize it was the same name you were talking about. What is the pet1 one.
