How to go back to original IOS38 on system menu 4.2U

Can anyone tell me how I can go back to the original factory installed IOS38? I'm running the softmod on system menu 4.2U and everything was working perfectly except for Guitar Hero 5 with USB Loader GX so I used Hermes' Cios 222 installer to install custom IOS 222 as IOS38 Merged with IOS37 and custom IOS 223 as IOS38 merged with IOS60. Then I went into USB Loader GX and made the changes to the game load settings including boot from IOS 222 instead of IOS 249. Well to make a long story short, this did not work however, I was able to run GH5 via Configurable USB Loader with ios 222-mload.

I then made a mistake by continuing to try to find a way to make GH5 work with USB Loader GX. I read that I would also need IOS38 rev 14 installed so I found the installer and completed the installation of IOS38 rev 14. After all that, GH5 still doesn't work with USB Loader GX and the part that's even worse is I'm noticing certain games are not loading as fast and seem to run slower then normal. I didn't have this problem prior to installing the IOS38 rev 14 so I was wondering if there's a way to get the original IOS38 back? Any help on this will be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance!

Your ios38 is as it should be. I suspect that the slowness is partially in your head, but you could install cios38-r17 to replace cio38-r14. These both install to ios249. If the GH5 worked in any loader, you cios is fine. You could try to update your usbloader gx, or install a different rev of hermes. Hermes is at r-5, but it may not be supported by all loaders yet, or your loader may be outdated. You could also try cios38-19, which has many options to provide support for GH5 type games.

Thanks for the good advice. Everything works now!!! You were right, I had to update USB Loader GX for compatibility with cIOS 222/223. The problem with the upgrade on USB Loader GX is that you can't get the current revision rev921 to install via the update feature in the program. It always says no updates found, even though I was running rev 807c which is a very outdated revision and is also the one that comes with the current Windows USBLoaderGX_1.0_Installer.exe found on the USB Loader GX Google code website. I easily found the USB Loader rev921 update but nowhere does anything say that you have to delete the current USB Loader boot.dol and install the rev921.dol and then rename the rev921.dol to boot.dol to make the update work. I guess this is an easy thing for experts to figure out but for most people this is not self explanatory even though I figured it out after about 30 mins of going back and forth from the PC to the Wii. The .wad channel file is easier to get working but I think the warning on the channel upgrade deters most people from installing the channel and besides the fact, some people don't even know how to use wad manager to install the .wad in the first place. So, for those of you still trying to get Guitar Hero 5 to work on USB Loader GX, this is the step you're missing!!!! If this helped anyone, please click my thanks button and rock on!!
