Lightbulb Help please: A question regarding the Wii SD card slot

Hello fellow gentlemen, allow me to begin by saying I hope you're enjoying your day.

Now here's my situation. I got a Wii console from a friend because he lost the wires and his remotes and wasn't interested in buying replacements. So I went out and got everything I needed and I was ready to mod the little sucker until... ~DOM DOM DOM~ The SD card wasn't being read!!!

I opened up the Wii until I was able to see that the second pin on the card reader was bent severely. I tried to bend the pin until it was back in place the best I can. After that, I closed the Wii and went for another test run hoping that it would work now, but still it's giving me the same message "The device inserted in the SD Card Slot cannot be used."

Now I know most of you guys would say "Send it in to the big N" but here's my question... Is there a way I could replace the SD slot myself? I have a Wii/GC SD card adapter made by WiiKey. Is it possible to de-soder the card reader off the little silicon board and replace the Wii's SD slot with it by sodering it on?

    Thanx in advance

Awesome! That was a quick response! ^_^

But still I tried all four of my cards. None of em' work. All Sandisk. Two 1GB's, one 2GB and a 4GB SDHC as well. My friend's coming over with a Kingston 2GB and a "pqi brand" 512MB (don't ask, never heard of pqi lol) So I'll see if those work... in case they don't. it would be no problem for me to soder on the new SD card slot onto the Wii's Mobo. I just need to know if doing so would fix it or if it wouldn't be compatible.

Well I tried the other two SD cards that my friend brought and still they aren't working. I just need a confirmation on wether or not if I could soder a replacement SD card reader onto the Wii Mobo.
