USB Loader GX error message & freezing

Just yesterday I, for the first time, soft modded my Wii and installed USB Loader GX. I dont use a forwarder I go through the channel. It worked just fine and I was able to download the covers using GX. Today I added about 15 games to my hard drive and plugged it back into the Wii, load GX, and push 1, says I need to update 15 covers, as soon as I click OK I get a weird noise and a black error screen. I can copy the info if that will help.

Also, if I try to go through the settings menu to auto-update GX it goes to a totally black screen and made a series of terrible noises. Also if I try to list the games by cover instead of title I get the black error screen. All of these errors require me to manually restart the Wii.

I am not entirely sure how to reinstall manually now as I did soooo many things yesterday with the Wii I am not sure what steps to re-do to reinstall GX. Thanks in advance for help!

Go HERE and download the rev919 wad file. I know the 919 rev works fine. Copy the wad file to your SD card. Go to HBC (Homebrew Channel) and run Wad Mgr to install the downloaded wad file. Hope that fixes your problem. Just to be sure, please also check and reseat all your cables and connections, OK? Good luck.

Thanks for info on how to update! Unfortunately all I discovered is that the black screen with an error is now just a solid black screen with a vibrating remote and that terrible noise. However I also found that if I even try to load any game I get the same previous black screen with error message. So I am not too sure whats going on...I also noticed that there are 2 channels for USB Loader GX and one of them doesnt even open it just goes back to the main screen.

is it possible theres a problem with one of the games I put on the HDD? I used WBFS Manager 3.0 same as before and all games I got are from a trusted source.

Sorry, I guess I should have specifically instructed you to uninstall the previous version of USB Loader GX. You uninstall a wad using Wad Mgr-select the bad installed wad and choose the uninstall option in Wad Mgr.

Let's see how you Wii reacts after removing what looks like a bad install. You can opt to uninstall both channels and then install the good 919rev if that is easier for you to keep track of what is going on.

OK turns out I believe the reason for all the issues with updating GX and trying to load Cover Art was that I didnt have the SD card in and all the paths were set to the SD card. I have since moved all paths to corresponding folders on the HDD and its working just fine now.

I never did uninstall and reinstall GX, so the only issue at all is that I am left with 2 channels for USB Loader GX and only one of which works. Should I still uninstall/reinstall to get that fixed?
