    Swapping my D3-2 Drive

    Can I swap my D3-2 Drive to a non-D3-2 drive so I could run Burnt DVDs? Are there no compatibility issues?

    It's what I did. Save the D3-2 drive, too might come in handy. The drive itself is fine, but rather the PCB/circuit board attached to it is the "problem." That way if your non-D3 2 drive goes kaput, you can use its PCB/circuit board on the D3-2 drive (only have to unsolder 4 wires).

    so I will just disconnect the D3-2 and plug in the older version drive? or Do I need to solder a thing or two? Any good tutorials out there?

    No, they're directly swappable --- no soldering required.
