Also (being an American in europe) I found that they sell plug adapters you can put on the end of your wii power strip to change your fail UK plug to a win US plug, lol. Probably be preferable if you can find one than having to strip and electric tape wires.

I also know the PAL electronics over there usually favor (or used to favor) SCART; the U.S. supports composite (meh) and component if that makes a diff.

My UK power main says 230 on it I don't see the rgae of 110-230 that you see on most power boxes. However, just because it doesn't say it doesn't mean it doesn't do it...anyone try this or know for sure? WOuld I destroy the wii if I got a US wii mains and used that to solve the issue? (I tend to think it would blow it) And I've also seen these PAL to NTSC converter boxes on ebay that claim to convert, but they come from Hong Kong and no one has even talked about that kind of option...so I'm wondering if its a real option...

The Wii has a +12v power supply no matter what country you live in.

No real reason to modify the Wii as most modern TVs, even those in USA will happily display PAL but if you want to remvoe ther risk of US disc updates then you'll need to region modify the Wii.

Some people have used power converters to convert the 110v to 230v and the correct frequency but is it really required as you can buy a transformer AC Power Adapter Cord Supply for Nintendo WII US Plug 100-240V
Not really doing much Wii stuff these days.

Yea, I figured the power was the least of my worries...and now that I know for sure that I can just use a US wii power main to solve the problem that seems best! As for the the TV thing N claims it will ruin the TV ect...blah blah..and that was the biggest thing for me....not knowing with the PAL will really have any problems with a US NTSC TV. The TV I have in the states is a Toshiba with HDTV, conponet video, DVI, (NO HDMI) so I'm hoping that's new enough to be ok.... thoughts?

    TEALC yous da best! Thanks
